Indian Parliament has issued notifications for fulfilling 31 Junior Clerks posts at Lok Sabha Secretariat on direct recruitment basis. The post is a level 4 post in the Pay Matrix (Provisional) [in the Pay Band of Rs. 5200-20200 (PB-1)+Grade Pay:Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)].

Details of the Junior Clerk Vacancy at Lok Sabha Secretariat –

Post Name: Junior Clerk

Total No. of Posts: 31 (01 SC, 05 ST, 09 OBC and 16 UR)

Subject/Stream: 1. English – 26 Posts; 2. Hindi/Bi-lingual – 5 Posts

Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university and a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute in English/Hindi stream. Preference will be given to persons having typing speed of 40 words per minute both in English and Hindi.

Desirable –  Certificate in computer course recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) or courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by DOEACC.

UPPER AGE LIMIT: 27 years as on 09.08.2017

Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the examination as per the following scheme –

I. Preliminary Examination –

Part A –

  • Subject – General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  • Marks – 50
  • Question Types – 50 Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions
  • Time – 50 Minutes

Part B –

  • Subject – General English
  • Marks – 50
  • Question Types – 50 Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions
  • Time – 50 Minutes

The Preliminary Examination will be a qualifying examination. Only those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in each component and aggregate in the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Main Examination. The marks secured by the candidates in the Preliminary Examination will not be counted while preparing the final selection list.

II. Main Examination:

Paper I –

  • Subject – Essay, Letter and Grammar {Descriptive Type Paper: Essay (50 Marks), Letter (35 Marks) and Grammar (15 Marks)}
  • Marks – 100
  • Time – 2 Hours

Paper II –

  • Subject – Typing test at 40 w.p.m. in English/Hindi
  • Marks – 100
  • Time – 10 Minutes
