The wait is over! Finally, the much-awaited first draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was published at midnight of 1st January 2018 with the names of total 1,88,89,920 people out of the 3.29 crore total applicants in Assam. All these people are finally recognized as “legal” citizens of India. The rest of the names are under various stages of verification, Registrar General of India Sailesh said at a press conference where he made the draft public.
People should not get panic if his or her name is not in the first draft list. There will be two more part draft NRC lists to be published before the final one.
To know how to check your name in the NRC draft list online, through SMS and via toll-free numbers, follow the instructions given below –
Check your name in first Draft NRC list by visiting NRC Seva Kendras –
Check your name in Part Draft NRC in Printed copies at your respective NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs) from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on 1st January 2018 and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM from 2nd January 2018 till 31st January 2018 on all working days (Mon-Sat).

Through on-demand SMS about the inclusion of your name in Part Draft – You can send an SMS to 9765556555 or 9108464438 or 9108464450 in the format “ARN [ARN No.]” to get information on the inclusion of your name in Part Draft.
For example – If your ARN is 101678738391838391832, then type ARN 101678738391838391832 and send it to 9765556555. You will receive an SMS in reply.

Note to remember:
- Applicants of Guwahati City will need to refer to the Ward numbers as per the earlier demarcation of 60 wards.
- Applicants who have activated DO NOT DISTURB (CMG) in their phone numbers will not receive any response.
- They can pre-register using any other number which does not have DND registration.
KNOW YOUR APPLICATION RECEIPT NUMBER (ARN) IN CASE YOU HAVE LOST OR MISPLACED

This is to inform all concerned online applicants that in case you have misplaced or lost your Application Receipt Number (ARN), which was issued against your Online Application Form, call at the toll-free helpline number 15107. The call center agent shall assist you with the ARN.
